Achieving for Children Online Safety Presentation
In December 2022 we were fortunate to have Peter Cowley from Achieving for Children come to The Queen’s School to talk to Year 5 and Year 6 children and their parents about online safety.
Peter Cowley is The Lead Adviser for Online Services and Safety for Achieving for Children, a not-for-profit social enterprise company created in 2014. A CEOP Ambassador, he works with groups of parents and carers, school staff and governors, children and young people, social workers, front line professionals and the police in helping to keep children and young people safer while online.
He is also responsible for the smooth operation of the LGfL broadband contract, covering internet access and services in most Kingston and Richmond schools and libraries. He is a qualified teacher and has taught chemistry and computer science, as well as being head of department in two secondary schools.
You can find his presentation below and in the Online Safety Resources tab there are many resources to support parents in managing devices and guidance on safe use, including setting parental controls.
