Ash Wednesday

KS2 (Years 2 to 6) go to St Anne’s Church in Kew to mark Ash Wednesday. The children learn about Lent and how Christians observe this solemn, reflective time in the church calendar. Children can choose whether they would like to have an ashen cross on their foreheads during this service.

Lent Trail

This year, the Southwark Diocese Lenten Appeal was to raise money for local projects in London and outreach work in Zimbabwe.  It was work that we at The Queen's School really want to support and so we used the money collected from our Lent Trail towards it.  Each child brought in a penny and these were used to creat spirals of coins in the Lower School Hall.
