2024 Ofsted Inspection
Ofsted inspected our school on 16th and 17th July 2024. This was a full "section 5" inspection, the first since 2017. The inspectors graded the school as 'Outstanding' under two of the five report headings, and 'Good' for the remaining three. Although 'overall effectiveness' grades are no longer used by Ofsted, because this inspection was before the policy change was announced, we received an overall grade of 'Good'.
We are very proud of the report and we are thrilled that all the hard work of our staff and pupils has been acknowledged. The inspection team grasped our school context well, commenting on the mutual respect between our staff and pupils, as well as their confidence when discussing their learning.
Particular points of feedback included:
- Pupils thrive and the school values of love, compassion and respect are lived out daily
- The school offers a broad and ambitious curriculum, expectations are high.
- The school develops pupils’ independence and character; promotes pupils’ wider development exceptionally well
- The school places a high priority on early reading, with strong staff knowledge and effective training
- The school prioritises attendance, and works effectively with families to improve attendance and punctuality
- Leaders have made well-considered changes, and have strong relationships with families.
We have incorporated the inspectors' feedback into our School Development Plan as we look to continue to build on the solid foundations established over the last several years.
